What's New
February 2007
NEW
The latter half of January and first half of February have been very cold here! Several general construction projects are ongoing. The indoor "under lights" growing are is being upgraded. When we moved in last year, the grow trays and lights were simply strung up and now we are organizing everything, providing uniform lighting, watering and humidity. We will show you the area when it is complete.
The Cypripedium hybrid lists have been updated: Cypripedium Hybrids and Cypripedium Hybrids by Species to include all the new hybrids recognized by the RHS in 2006.
Paul Perakos and I presented "Ladyslipper Orchids for the Garden" at the Connecticut Flower Show on February 24. Many Connecticut ladyslipper growers and prospective growers were on hand. The slides may downloaded.
New images have been added to the Galleries:
Cypripedium x ventricosum, a very nice yellow flowered form from Paul Perakos.
This plant, flowering in February, broke dormancy last year as well.
