The roots of this plant were damaged when it was dug for the move last winter. In an attempt to reduce fungal and bacterial infection it was potted in perlite and sand with small amounts of turface and coir and was watered once each month with Physan 20, 2 teaspoons per gallon of water. The plant is recovering nicely with several new roots (clean white roots) and several shoot buds for next season. The plant will be kept in a pot for another season so assure that it continues to develop new roots and that the damaged roots do not become infected.
NEW We have prepared a table of Cypripedium hybrids by parent to make it simple to see what hybrids originated from each species. In addition to the link here, you may link to this table from the Cypripedium hybrids page.
We have added links to the Washington Native Orchid Society and FlorAlpin on the Links page.
We have added a short biography of William Merritt Post that can be linked to from the Gardens page.
